Larry Calvin Brown

Larry Calvin Brown, age 75, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood. Larry was born May 8, 1949, to Calvin and Elna (Schwartz) Brown. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1967. After graduating high school, he attended NIACC in Mason City. Larry was a lifelong farmer. Some of his interests were classic cars, antique guns, hunting and fishing. In October 1969 he married Rosalind Bohl. They later divorced. They had three children, Eric, Erin and Amy. Larry shared thirty years with life partner, Janine Carlson. Larry is survived by his daughter, Amy Scarlett, grandchildren, Linca and Layla Scarlett all of Northwood; brother, Jerry Brown (Sheila) of Osage; niece, Sarah Anderson of Cedar Rapids; nephews, Waylon Brown of Osage and Clint Brown of St. Ansgar, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Elna; sons, Eric and Erin; son-in-law, Linca Scarlett Jr. and life partner, Janine Carlson. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 PM followed by services starting at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Deer Creek Lutheran Church located at 4598 Zinnia Ave, St Ansgar, IA. The burial will be held at a later date. Schroeder-Hoff Funeral Home of Northwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
