Jean A. Ranum

Jean A. Ranum, age 73, of Northwood, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at her home. Jean was born on March 10, 1951, to Orin and Inez Sparby. She had two siblings Joyce (Robert) Towsley of San Antonio, TX, and Lynn Sparby of San Antonio, TX. Jean had three children, Christina (Mark) Yates of Garner, IA, Ken Trappe of Forest City, IA, Carrie (Aaron) Dick of Tow, TX. She had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean spent the last 34 years with her partner Anthony (Tony) Hildman. Some of Jean’s favorite hobbies were making her yard beautiful with gardening and having as many twinkly lights in her garden as possible. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Jean is survived by her partner Anthony, her three children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orin and Inez Sparby, Anthony’s parents, Dennis and Glenda Hildman, and Anthony’s brother Mitchell Hildman. The family will be having an informal gathering at the VFW in Northwood on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to celebrate the beautiful life of Jean.
