Olegaria "Olga" Beyer

Olegaria “Olga” Beyer age 95, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Mercy One North Iowa. Olga was born on December 9, 1928, the daughter of Victor Cherigo and Maria de los Santos Sanchez. She married her husband Richard Beyer on November 20, 1958, from this union they had five children, Rose, Jose, Liz, Myra, and Flora. Olga dedicated 41 years of her life as a nurse aid at the Good Samaritan Home in St. Ansgar. She enjoyed spending her free time engaging in hobbies such as crochet, sewing, and gardening. She found solace and joy in creating beautiful pieces with her hands and tending to her garden. She will be remembered for her kindness, hard work, and loving nature. Olga is survived by her children, Rose (Doug) Hanna of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Jose (Diane) Beyer of Westfield, Indiana, Liz (Andy) Meyerhofer of Osage, Iowa, Myra (Dave) Sjostrand of Mason City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, brother, Innocente Cherigo, son-in-law Ron Elliott, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Beyer, her parents’ daughter, Flora Elliott, several brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the First Lutheran Church, 212 Main St. in St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Christopher Staley officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Parish Hall. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
