Gordon B. Olson

Gordon B. Olson, age 90, of Mitchell, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Gordon was born on January 23, 1934, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Carl and Doris (Ebert) Olson. He was an Osage High School graduate from the class of 1951, Gordon was a hardworking man who dedicated many years of his life to farming and working at the grain elevator in St. Ansgar. He met and married Jeannine Stokes, and they were married for 68 years. Gordon cherished the time spent with his family, he also had a passion for the outdoors, often spending his free time hunting and fishing. Gordon is survived by his wife Jeannine Olson of Mitchell, IA; children, David Olson of Mitchell, IA; Terry (Sherri) Olson of Cedar Rapids, IA, Pamela (Gregory) Schwartz of Mason City, IA, Dennis Olson of Mitchell, IA, Dawn (Kenneth) Truka of Mason City, IA, Scott (Joni Gelner) Olson of Manly, IA; sister, Carol (Allyn) Milton of Osage, IA; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Olson, Mandy Olson, Crystal Olson, Steven Olson, Courtney Ritter, Dustin Schwartz, Samantha Humphreys, Seth Truka, Alicia Moody, Nathan Gelner, and Cooper Robinson and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Doris and Carl Olson Sr.; brother, Carl Olson Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Alice Stokes, and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Nerad. A Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Champion Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
