Gene Edward Rosenberg

Gene E. Rosenberg, age 91, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar. Gene was born on March 26, 1933, to Eddy and Ella (Kirchutter) Rosenberg. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. Gene met the love of his life Betty Bork, and the two were united in marriage on April 23, 1954. This union gave them 70 years of marriage and their three children: Sherri, Perry, and Mari. Gene was a lifelong grain and dairy farmer; he loved all animals, especially his pets. He enjoyed doing many crafts and painting in the later years of his life. Gene is survived by his loving wife Betty Rosenberg of St. Ansgar, his daughters; Sherri Hughes of Forest City, Iowa, and Mari Momberg of Clear Lake, Iowa, sister; Janice Weinschenk of Rochester, Minnesota, many nieces and nephews, four grand children and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his son Perry. A visitation will be held at the Schroeder-Hoff Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 4:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a private family burial following on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. A funeral service will be planned at a later date.
