Myrna Jean Hrubetz

Myrna Jean Hrubetz, age 84, of Prescott, Wisconsin, formerly of St. Ansgar, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at her home surrounded by family on her late husband’s birthday. Her family took it as a sign that Ronald “Ron” was calling her home to be with him in Heaven. Myrna was born in Osage, Iowa to Benjamin and Gertrude (Borchardt) Boerjan on September 3, 1939. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School and went on to receive her LPN degree from St. Mary’s Hospital. Myrna worked for various hospitals throughout her nursing career including in Hastings, MN. On January 30, 1960, she married the love of her life Ron James Hrubetz. She was known for her love of reading, spending time with family and friends, traveling adventures, playing games, and dressing up for a good meal out. Survivors include her daughter, Jacqueline (Jeff) Brown of Cottage Grove, MN; grandchildren, Tara Eggert, Ashley Nelson, Courtney Brown, Cody Brown, Timothy Hrubetz, and Tyler Hrubetz; great grandchildren, Riley Eggert, Aubrey Eggert, Teigan Hrubetz, Tatum Hrubetz, Anja Hrubetz, Elena Hrubetz, Michael Nelson and Hazel Nelson; brother, Gary Boerjan and Roger Boerjan; and sister, Gwen Reiss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Gertrude Boerjan; husband, Ronald “Ron Hrubetz; and children, Shawn Henderson and Tim Hrubetz. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Schroeder-Hoff Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, Iowa. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery. Schroeder-Hoff Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is assisting the family with arrangements.
