Viola Margaret Klassen. 82, of Shakopee passed away peacefully, Friday, December 22, 2023, at her home. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church Viola was born January 4, 1941, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Burl and Lillian (Wagner) Goodale. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New Haven, Iowa in 1959. On June 13, 1959, Viola married Mathias Klassen Jr. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven. They began their married life farming until retiring they remained on the farm near Adams, Minnesota till moving to Shakopee in 2021 . She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams, Minnesota where she was a member of Sacred Heart Ladies Aide and volunteered at the church. Vi enjoyed farming, taking care of the animals, especially the pigs, garage sales, antiques, doing antique shows, watching David Muir on the ABC World news nightly and spending time with her family and friends. Vi loved spending time with all her grandchildren and they were the light of her life. Viola is survived by her husband, Matt; daughters, Lillian Klassen of Shakopee, Minnesota, Valerie Coffman of Marengo, Illinois and Karla Rice of Shakopee, Minnesota; sister, Arlene (Curt) Fox of Osage; grandchildren Morgan Coffman (20), Matilyn Vollmer (17), Payton Coffman (16), Maggie Vollmer (14) and Emma Vollmer (14); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth Goodale, William Goodale, Vernon Goodale, Dale Goodale and Dean Goodale and sister, Irene Johnson.
