Leanna Ella Miller

Leanna Ella Miller, age 81, of Osage, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Mitchell County Regional Heath Center in Osage, Iowa. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023, at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Leanna Ella Miller was born November 14, 1942 in Osage, Iowa to Samuel and Carlene (Reed) Wigant. She grew up and attended school in the Osage area. In 1958 Leanna married Marvin Alderman. They had three children, Dawn, Wanda and Bruce. On September 13,1964 Leanna married Christian "Chris" Miller at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They had two children, Karl and Laura. In 1979 they moved to Ashby, Minnesota where they farmed and had a dairy farm. Leanna worked various jobs after they quit farming. Leanna lived on the farm until after the death of her husband Chris. She returned to Osage where she lived until her death. Leanna enjoyed doing crafts, camping, gardening, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Leanna was passionate about dancing. She would attend as many dances as she could. She met so many people over the years and enjoyed spending time with them. Leanna was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leanna was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Carlene Wigant, her husband Chris, brothers Maylon Wigant and Lowell Wigant, sisters Berdine Heck and Janice Riker, sister-in-law Cindy Wigant, brothers-in-law John Heck, and James Riker. Her survivors include her children, Dawn (Michael) Lockett of Newport, OR, Wanda Simons of Texas, Bruce Alderman of Texas, Karl (Darlane) Miller of Battle Lake, MN and Laura (Paul) Heitke of Breckenridge, MN. Her sister Maxine (Ed) Sholly, brother Melvin Wigant and sister-in-law Kathy Wigant. Her grandchildren, Benjamin (Heather) Chatfield, Kristina (Trent) Thiele, Candie (Jimmy) McKay, Kaitlyn (Jason) Martin, Luke (Ashley) Chatfield, Erica (Justin) Smith, Erin Runningen, Brandon Duncan, Jesse Alderman, Christian Miller, Ethan Swenson, Myckaela Alderman, Fynn Miller and Trinity Miller. Great Grandchildren Clayton, Mackenzie and Toni Thiele, Chandler, Eli and Abigayle Vilmain, Jaicee McKay, Hudson, Elliot and Dawsyn Chatfield, Colton Marsili, Brooklyn, Hudson, Laityn and Daxton Martin, Gracie Norling, Charli and Hunter Smith, Ryleigh Althoff.
