Dennis Ray Fischer

DDennis Fischer, age 69, of Mitchell, died Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from a farming accident. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday October 25, 2023, at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Gary Gilbert officiating. The burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell with Military Honors by the Osage American Legion Post 278.. Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion Funeral Home. Dennis Ray Fischer was born June 30, 1954 in Mason City, Iowa. The son of Clarence and Bonnie (Pederson) Fischer. He attended and graduated from Osage High School in 1973 and joined the US Navy Sea Bee’s. He specialized as a Steelworker. His tours of duty included Gulf Port, Mississippi, Okinawa, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Vieques Island, and Diego Garcia. He was discharged in 1977 and made his home in Mitchell, Iowa. He worked at several welding jobs until becoming disabled. He kept active until his death doing things he enjoyed. Dennis is survived by two brothers; John (JoAnn) Fischer of Mitchell, and Lynn Fischer of Mitchell, Nephew Jesse (Beth) Fischer children Leah and Jesse Jr. of Mitchell, Niece Jamie (Bill) Hennessey of Orchard and their children Parker, Keagan, and Ava, Nephew DJ Fischer of Garner and his son Damon, special friend Mona Weipert and close friends Mark Mostek, Kenny Weinberger, and Mike Comisky.
