Alton Travis Groven

Alton Travis Groven was born on January 4, 1936, in Northwood, Iowa. He passed away peacefully at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa on June 24, 2023 at the age of 87. Alton worked as a roofer until 1995. He had a total of seven children, Stephen (Marilynn), Dennis (Shelly), Robert (Cheryl), Allene (James), Dean, Todd, Amanda (Christopher), 20 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two siblings, Darlene (Roger) and Donald. Alton is preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Anette Groven, two brothers, one sister and 2 daughters-in-law. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Elk Creek Lutheran Church, 4108 Killdeer Ave., Kensett, Iowa . Visitation will be held at the church prior to the funeral from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Elk Creek Cemetery.
