Carolyn Marie (Diedrich) Byrne, 76, Northwood, died April 16, 2023, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home Highway 65 South, Northwood, IA. Internment will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Graceland Park Cemetery Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood. Carolyn was born April 15, 1947 in Mason City the daughter of LaVern and Margaret (Kuhlmann) Diedrich. She graduated Northwood-Kensett High School in 1965. Carolyn Married Richard Byrne on October 7, 1983. She spent her early adult years in Northwood working various jobs as well as 14 years working on the farm. In 1981, she moved to Sioux City, Iowa working various jobs. She lived in Colorado for 9+ years before returning to Sioux City in 1995. After Rich’s death in 2008, she returned to Northwood. She was a friend of Bill W. for 41 years. In her younger years she enjoyed painting ceramics, playing cards, bowling, camping, and watching the Denver Broncos. Carolyn is survived by her: children, Tony (Dedra), Larry (Sheri) Harris, Darcie, Kelly, Shawn (Lisa) Patrick, Matthew Bryne; grandchildren, Shelby (Dustin), Tori (Jake), Lindy, Sydney (Greg), Dylan (Hannah), Treasure (Daniel), Daniel, Dale, Destiny, Amy, Travis, Amanda, Taylor, Cassandra (Matt), Michael, Amber (Zac), Josh; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Corrinne, Natalie, Zuilianixia, Braelynn, Westlynn, Kase, James, Abby, Zoey, Aubree, Hadley, Parker, Cameron, Londyn, Jack, Olivia, Luke, Madison; sisters, Kathy (Jim), Marilyn (Don); along with nieces, nephews; and many other extended family members and friends. Preceding Carolyn in death were her: parents, LaVern and Margaret; husband, Richard; great-granddaughter, Quinlynn; brother-in-Law, Frank.
