Irene Helen Thompson

Irene Thompson, age 95, of Osage, passed away Thursday, Feb 9, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2023, at Champion Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Cindy S. Krause officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, at Champion Funeral Home. Irene Thompson was born April 6, 1927, in Osage the daughter of Link and Anna (Dorgeloh) Mathiesen. She attended Osage schools graduating in 1948. Irene was united in marriage to Dean Thompson on October 30, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osage. She worked at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. She enjoyed bird watching and taking care of her family. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Irene is survived by her children, Debra (Robert) Barclay of Mitchell, David (Dana) Thompson of Osage; daughters-in-law, Geri Thompson of St. Ansgar and Ginger Thompson of Osage: 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shirley Sletten and Pat Thompson and many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dean; sons, Douglas Thompson, Darwin Thompson and Dennis Thompson; sisters and brothers -in-law, Doris (Martin Jr.) North, Betty (Hubert) Dieterich, Darrell Sletten, Marvin Thompson and Gregory (Phyllis) Barker.
