Carol Ann Smalley

Carol Ann Smalley, age 84, of Osage, died Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022, at United Church of Christ in Osage with Pastor Dixie Laube officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday day at the church. Carol was born near Manly, Iowa on January 5, 1938, the daughter of Loyal and Marie (Mandler) Kobernusz. She attended Osage High School. She married Herman on June 30, 1956. Carol was a member of the United Church of Christ and Nash Car Club. She worked various jobs in the communities where she lived, but her main job was taking care of her family. Carol and Herman volunteered at the Food Pantry in Mason City and Food Shelf in Osage. Carol most of all enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carol is survived by her: sons, Dennis (Shari) Smalley, Mike (Lynnea) Smalley and Randy Smalley; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Maxine (Bob) Bollman and Connie Roths; nieces, nephews, and good friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Herman.
