Marilyn Jean Nerad, 84, of Osage died Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Mitchell Country Regional Health Center in Osage. Marilyn was born in Mitchell, IA on January 16, 1938 to Donald and Alice (Robeson) Stokes. She was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. She graduated at Mitchell High School in 1955. Marilyn married her soul mate, Richard Nerad, on June 4, 1955 at St. Ansgar Catholic Church. They were married for 67 years. To this union 3 children were born, Deb, Cheryl and Kevin. She farmed beside her husband until she worked at Dr. Young’s Vet Clinic and later at Mark’s Tractor. She enjoyed her flower gardens and sitting outside by their water pond with Richard. She also enjoyed wintering at Sleepy Valley Resort in Mission, TX. They did that for 29 years. She was the treasurer of the board Sleepy Valley Resort for a number of years. She also loved dancing, playing cards, and pegs and jokers. She hosted the annual New Years Eve party in their home in Texas. Marilyn is survived by her: husband, Richard; daughters, Debra of New Richmond, WI and Cheryl and her husband Larry LePrevost of Camanche, IA; son, Kevin and his Wife Renee Harms) of Osage; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Jeannine (Gordon) Olson. Marilyn was preceded by her parents. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage.
