Doris Merilynne Mitchell

Doris was born on February 16, 1937 at the Dolmage Hospital in Buffalo center to George Hendrickson and Lois Belle (Leith) Russ. She was the oldest of 3 children. She did eight grades at Country School Eden #4 and four years at Buffalo Center High School, graduating in 1955. In October of 1955 she married Donald Harang. To this union 4 children were born, Becky Lynne, Sonya Sue, Stacy Lorelei and Eric Michael. They farmed in Silver Lake, Northwood and Weatherby, MO. In 1976 she left Northwood to resettle in Portland, OR until 1989. Then she started R.V. traveling Arizona, Iowa and Oregon circuit for 15 years. She settled back in Northwood in 2004. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lois Russ and brother, Walter. She is survived by her: daughters, Becky (Henry) Tews, Sonya (Kevin) Mortell and Stacy (Gilbert) Laborin; son, Eric (Tammy) Harang; grandchildren, Brooke Hudson (Bobby Johnson), Christopher Littlefield, Mandy (Travis) Schultz, Nancy (Zach) Schrupp, Nico Laborin, Noelle (Juan) Santos, Melissa (Ben) Berringer, Jesse (Steph) Harang, Tyler (Kelsey) Tews, Heather (Zach) Wynia, and Brittany (Jeff) Heiken; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Roger (Norene) Russ; and special friend, Galen Quam. She loved her Lord, her family and many sewing machines where she quilted many hours.
