Alice Adeline Chezik

Alice A. Chezik, age 85, of Osage, died Friday, March 4, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Cindy S. Krause officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Funeral Home. Alice was born December 6, 1936, on the family farm near St. Ansgar, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Vera (Tesch) Sonberg, She attended St. Ansgar schools. Alice was united in marriage to Duane Chezik on June 12, 1954, at Toeterville, IA. They made their home on the family farm and farmed until 1996 when Duane retired. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran church in Osage. Alice enjoyed gardening, baking the best slab apple pie and playing games with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren She loved spending time with family and friends, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Duane in 2000; brothers, Richard and Adrian Sonberg. Those that survive her include; a daughter, Kay Shellen and her husband, Robert of Owatonna, MN and their son, Craig (Andrea) Shellen of Prior Lake, MN; a son, Denis Chezik and wife, Venita of Osage and their children, Jeremy (Dani) Chezik of Calmar, Daniel (Jenna) Chezik of Kansas City, Kansas and Megan (Chip) Thurnau and their children, Jaxon and Brandt of Nora Springs; siblings, Dorothy Vance, Marie Mullenbach and Cliff Sonberg and many nieces and nephews. www.schroederfuneralhomes.com Champion Funeral Home, Osage (641) 732-3706
