Ruth B. Onken

Rudd, Iowa - Ruth Berniece Onken, 91, of Rudd died the 18th of October, 2020 at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, the daughter of Hans and Emily (Sampson) Lundene. Ruth attended country school and graduated from Rudd High School. As a waitress at the Snack Shop in Osage she met her future husband. On December 18, 1949 she and Frank Onken were united in marriage and worked together farming. Ruth is survived by her: children, Dianne Casto of Mason City, Richard (Barbara) Onken of Rudd, Dwight Onken of Osage and Barbara (Duane) Smith of Osage; five grandchildren, Pamela (Joe) Rowe, Laura (Rodney) Arcenas, Amy Smith, Melanie Onken and Scott Onken; five great-grandchildren, Jade and Jaxson Arcenas, Adler, Cohen and Griffen Rowe; sister-in-law, Donna Onken; many nieces and nephews. There will be a private family graveside service at the Osage Cemetery. Ruth was preceded in death by her: parents; husband, Frank; son, Ronald; two sisters, Maybelle Havig and Hannah Welliver; son-in-law, Ronald Casto; and so many brother and sisters-in-law.
