Marquis Charles Shaw, 30, passed away unexpectedly on December 2, 2021. He was born on April 11, 1991 in Salinas, CA to Dawn Shaw. Marquis had a passion for sports especially basketball, football and volleyball. He was an avid Vikings and North Carolina Tar Heels fan. He could almost always be found watching a game with friends, playing a pickup game, or checking game scores. He played football for both the Albert Lea Grizzlies and North Iowa Bucks over the years. If he wasn't playing or watching sports he was coaching. He truly had a passion for helping others learn the sports he loved. He helped coach NIACC girls' volleyball for many years and had such a positive impact on so many. Most importantly, Marquis had a deep love for his family, especially his Mom and Grandparents. He loved to watch football with his Mom and go shoe shopping to add to his collection. He enjoyed going fishing and sharing a drink with his Grandpa who was like a father to him and spending quality time talking with his Grandma. Marquis was the life of the party everywhere he went. His infectious smile, bootylious dance moves and selfless attitude touched the lives of so many. He always knew how to brighten anyone's day and was the type of person you could meet once and remember for a lifetime. Marquis leaves behind his mother Dawn Shaw, three uncles and some cousins. He now joins his Grandparents Harley and Joyce Shaw. He will be forever missed and never forgotten.
