Peter Hemann, age 87, of Osage, died Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage with Military Honors by Osage American Legion Post #278. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage. Peter was born August 24, 1934, in Osage, Iowa, the son of William (Christine) Hemann. He attended school in Meyer. Served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. Peter married Beverly Boardman on April 25, 1959, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Winona, Minnesota. They farmed in Riceville area and retired to Osage. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. Peter enjoyed traveling, farming, fishing and hunting. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. Peter is survived by his children, Barb (Myron) Baldwin of Osage, Matthew Hemann of Mason City, James (Kris) Hemann of Chester, Patty (Tim) Machin of Kensett and William (Jackie) Hemann of Riceville; 10 grandchildren, Selena Carrington, Coty Hemann, Blaine Machin, Kelsey Warrington, Dalton Hemann, Gatlin Hemann, Brynn Hemann, Lauren Hemann, Taylor Hemann and Weston Hemann; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Beverly in 2021; siblings, Albert, Urban, Fritz and Helen.
