Eldon C. Bruggeman age 79 of St. Ansgar, IA died on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Eldon was born on August 30, 1942 in Osage, IA to Clarence and Alvina Bruggeman. He was baptized, confirmed, and was a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran church in Toeterville, IA. He worked and took over the family farm north of Toeterville, IA with his parents since he was a child. He married Anita Johnson from Owatonna, MN on January 15, 1966. They had two children, Kris Bruggeman Gilgenbach (Mark) and Tim Bruggeman (Kathy). He farmed his whole life, even after they moved to St. Ansgar in 1996. He loved all parts of farming he was known as a top grade beef cattle grower, corn and soybeans. He was proud of his John Deere equipment. Later on in life he was so proud of his Grandchildren Josh Murphy (Brittany) Taylor Bruggeman, Breanna Bruggeman Butler (Mitchell), Great Grandchildren Brayden and Maci Murphy. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren drive his John Deere tractors in the local parades, and teaching them the safety of farm equipment. He loved the fall on the farm, the smell of the finished product out of the field. He enjoyed family vacation trips, and later in life promoted to a pontoon skipper @ the lake. Eldon was considered a simple family farmer. He is survived by his wife Anita Bruggeman his daughter Kris Bruggeman Gilgenbach (Mark) Rochester, MN son Tim Bruggeman (Kathy) St. Ansgar, IA. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren Josh, Brittany, Brayden, and Maci Murphy Stewartville, MN. Breanna Bruggeman Butler (Mitchell) Stacyville, IA. Sister Lorraine Kofoot (Leo) Spirit Lake, IA, Sister Donna Finstuen (Paul) Wanamingo, MN, and nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Alvina Bruggeman, grandson Taylor Bruggeman, nephew Mike Finstuen. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, Iowa with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. also at the St. Peter Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the St. Peter Cemetery in Toeterville.
