Linda Mae Mausehund, age 72, of Mitchell, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 29, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at the Champion Funeral Home in Osage with Pastor Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Mitchell. A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Champion Funeral Home. Linda was born on June 26, 1948 in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Donald and Geraldine (Bly) Prantner. She attended and graduated from Osage High School. Linda married Les Mausehund on May 20, 1967 at Faith Lutheran Church in Mitchell. She worked as a cook for many years for Phil and Chris Bly and most recently at the Old County Seat. Linda was a member of the Cedar River Saddle Club, a wine tasting group, and pool league. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, and sharing her love for horses with her grandchildren. Most of all she loved spending time with family, especially her granddaughters and great-grandsons. Her door was always open and she was a mom, grandma, and friend to everyone she met. Linda is survived by her daughter, Connie Mausehund of Osage; sons, John (Cindi) Mausehund of La Crosse, Wisconsin and Ron Mausehund of Mitchell; granddaughters, Brianna Funte of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Heather Funte of Charles City, Kora Miller of La Crescent, Minnesota, Jayden Mausehund of La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Maddisen Mausehund of St. Ansgar; great-grandsons, William Huffman and Ari Johnson; sister, Becky Prantner of Pacso, Washington; brother, Tom (Linda) Prantner of Belle Fourche, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Les (2018).
