Little Cedar – Ruth Carol Loney, 75, died May 24, 2021 at home surrounded by her family and three beloved dogs. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Liberty Cemetery, Little Cedar with Rev. Sue Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. At Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, 207 S. School Street, St. Ansgar. Ruth was born on February 20, 1946 in Iowa City. She was the daughter of Art and Evelyn (Bente) Jensen. She grew up and went to school in Osage. In 1963 she married Chuck Schwab and together they had three children, Kim, Kelly and Angie. In 1982 she married Dean Loney and together they farmed north of Osage and near Little Cedar. Ruth loved and enjoyed having big family get togethers with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday and the whole family couldn't wait to eat grandma's feast! She was an active member of the St. Ansgar United Church and UMW. Ruth was known for her love of animals. Some of the family favorites were the dogs, Lady, Katie, and Albert, Sherman the duck, Wilbur the pig, Queenie the pet turkey, Rowdy the pony and Gracie the chicken. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Dean, son Dan Loney, granddaughter Jackie Johanns and her parents. Ruth is survived by her: son, Kim (Beth) Schwab and their children Kasey, Arthur, Adam, Maegan and Abby; daughter, Kerry (Don) Randalland her children Molly (Kenny) and Katey; daughter, Kelly McPhail and her children, Luke (Alana) Joshua (Morgen), Tyler (Krystra); daughter, Angie (Pat) Michels and her children Taylor, Turner, and Sawyer; granddaughter, Jesse Johanns; grandsons Jeremy Johanns, Nathan and Justin Loney; 12 great-grandchildren; and beloved dogs, Mandy, Hannah and Charlotte.
